How does the 3D water printer work?
A digital 3D water curtain is an interactive water attraction that takes the form of a rectangle with 4 columns. Its upper part is provided with a large number of evenly distributed nozzles. The water flowing through those nozzles is controlled by electronics. Water drops form falling images and interesting visual effects. The water circulates in a closed circuit. The drops that are created by the interactive 3D water printer fall into the through at the bottom. Afterward, the water is filtered and pumped back to the top.
The interactive 3D water printer is delivered as a separate unit, which is installed by our technicians on the site indicated by the client. The installation site can be indoors or outdoors.
The 3D water curtain requires a water treatment station, a through for the falling water, and piping connecting all these elements at the installation site to work properly. Our offer includes a water treatment plant as a separate product. The piping and the through are usually provided by a local hydraulic company.
Available 3d water printer sizes
We need at least 2 x 3m space to install the 3D Water Printer.The water falls from a rectangle 1 x 1,2m. The quality of the printed shapes depends on the resolution of the 3D Water Curtain.The 3D Water Display may be mounted at any height, However the falling images are the sharpest at the first 4 meters of free fall.
Resolution affects the quality of the printed shapes. The higher the quality, the more detailed the shapes are. The higher the resolution, the greater the number of nozzles. There are 3 resolutions to choose from:
- 20 x 16 px = 320 valves (1920 nozzles)
- 24 x 20 px = 480 valves (2880 nozzles)
- 32 x 20 px = 640 valves (3840 nozzles)
What can an interactive 3d water curtain display?
Water flow in the 3d water printer is controlled electronically. The water drops create three-dimensional shapes. These can be some interesting visual effects from our library or any graphics sent by the client.
Our software allows you to combine several animations. The digital 3d water curtain can store up to 9 programs in its memory. The machine can be controlled remotely using a tablet with a dedicated application. When the printing is completed the program is looped.
Operating the 3d water printer
The machine is operated with an Android device (usually a tablet). It can be used to load programs (image files, GIF animations) and turn the 3d water curtain on and off. Using the tablet, the spectators can draw any black and white picture or inscription in the android application. When the start button is pressed the digital 3D water display immediately stops displaying the default program and presents the shapes drawn by a spectator three times. Then it returns to displaying the default program. The range of data transmission via Bluetooth is about 15 meters. The client can place the tablet on the rack or give it to the technical service.
Synchronize the interactive 3D water printer with music and light, connect it to other devices using DMX512 protocol. This is how you can turn the printing machine on or off at any time, or switch between different programs.
Please refer to our technical documentation for more details on lighting possibilities. Optionally, we can supply LED lamps mounted from the bottom or top, integrated with the interactive 3D water curtain.
It is recommended to cover the tank with anti-splash mats to limit the splashing. We can supply mats on request.

The 3D water printer is delivered Ex Works. It means that all transportation costs and travel expenses borne for the first installation and later servicing are covered by the client.
The client is responsible to cover the shipment, pay any local taxes and duties, and costs of any additional documentation (eg. ATA carnet) required by law or authorities at the destination.
If the installation is in Europe, we offer shipment as optional service.

Installation site requirements
The 3D water printer can be installed provided that the installation place meets all the technical requirements mentioned in the Technical Specification that is available on request. The following elements should be ensured by the client:
Hydraulic system (pipes, pump, water treatment) according to the specification
Water tank (trough)
Lighting (if not ordered from us)
Shipment (if not ordered from us)
Transportation for our technicians (if shipment not ordered from us)
Accommodation for our technicians
Custom duties and taxes
A lift or a ladder (if lower than 4m) for technicians to access the mounting place
The machine is fixed to metal ceiling mounts with winches. They are sent to the client in advance, and they should be bolted in a desired position before the installation takes place. Their documentation is sent on request.
Water images are visible best against a dark background.
To reduce water splashes, the water tank should be covered with splash reducing mats. They can be delivered on request.
Under regular conditions, the falling water will not be spraying out of the tank noticeably. However, it cannot be ruled out that the water will wet the floor as a result of wind, spectators touching streams of water, during assembly and disassembly.
The 3D water curtain is rainproof but it cannot work during a storm.
Winds over 7 knots (3 on the Beaufort scale) can deform falling images and cause water to fall outside the tank or give the people nearby a wetting. To reduce the risk of wind, it is worth placing the 3D water printer in front of a wall or artificial background, protecting it against the wind, putting the machine sideways to the wind, avoiding the machine placed in constricted spaces, e.g. between buildings, where the wind speed increases.
It usually takes a number of consecutive days to install and test the 3D water printer:
The machine is assembled on the ground below the ceiling mounts.
The winches are connected to the ceiling mounts and to the machine
The machine is raised
Our technicians use ladders or a lift to fix the machine to the ceiling mounts, and to connect cables and pipes
The 3D water curtain is programmed and tested. The hydraulic installation has to be operational
All the technical requirements must be fulfilled before the installation. It must be possible to run the pump and the tank must be filled with water during the installation. In that time, the machine and the ground below should be freely accessible to our technicians. They should have a possibility to run and test it for at least 6 hours per day.
The client should determine the work schedule in advance, and inform about all the safety requirements (like obligatory Personal Protective Equipment) and mandatory permits at the place of installation.
Our insurance does not allow our technicians to perform activities other than work with the equipment we provide. In particular:
They may not assemble or disassemble the machine housing and its surroundings supplied by the client.
They may not perform any plumbing or electrical work
They cannot drill holes or use anchor bolts in order to fix the ceiling mounts
When the installation is complete, our technicians will provide information on how to operate and maintain the machine to a person designated by the client.
Additional installation fees
If the installation site requirements are not met, the installation may be postponed or prolonged until the client resolves all the problems. In this case, an extra assembly fee is charged for each additional assembly day.
Different components of our machines are covered by different types of Guarantee:
The software and the components manufactured by us that are subject to wear and tear are covered by the Endless Guarantee. In order to keep them operational the client is required to pay the Maintenance Fee.
Other components manufactured by us are covered with 1 Year Guarantee. The Guarantee for those components can be extended by paying the Guarantee Extension Fee.
Components that are manufactured and branded by other companies (e. g. pumps, filters, lamps and construction elements) are covered by their manufacturers' guarantee.
Endless Guarantee and Maintenance Fee
We guarantee the proper operation of the software and all components that are subject to wear and tear that we manufacture. The guarantee is not limited in time.
To keep those components operational, the client is required to pay the Maintenance Fee. It is paid in advance quarterly or annually for the entire period. It is calculated for every component according the following list:
0,15 EUR/hour of operation for the BT Controller Software
0,68 EUR/hour of operation for resolution 20 x 16 px = 320 valves (1920 nozzles)
1,02 EUR/hour of operation for resolution 24 x 20 px = 480 valves (2880 nozzles)
1,36 EUR/hour of operation for resolution 32 x 20 px = 640 valves (3840 nozzles)
The prices are adjusted for inflation.
The Maintenance and Guarantee Extension Fee is not payable for the first year of operation. It is due from the client starting from the second year of operation.
The fee should be paid before the end of previous billing period. Otherwise the digital water curtain may be electronically blocked until the payment is made.

Advantages of Endless Guarantee
The 3D water printer is a highly complex product. Its fast-moving parts are subject to wear and tear. To provide clients with the deepest possible experience, we developed our own valves which are even 6 times more durable than the ones used by our competitors.
The digital water curtain systems offered by the competition may have a very limited lifespan. After some time, the machines may deteriorate and deliver a negative experience to the spectators. Owners of those systems are exposed to very high repair or maintenance costs after the guarantee has expired. The digital water curtains produced by our competitors are usually proprietary systems that may be repaired only by the manufacturer. This usually significantly increases the servicing costs. The repair cost may actually be as high as that of a new machine.
To keep our clients satisfied, we decided to reduce the initial cost of our machines significantly, and introduce a low annual fee.
The initial cost of our machines is lower by 40-50% when compared to our competitors’ solutions.
Our clients are happy that they can avoid unexpected costs in the future, and they appreciate the transparency of our offer. They are glad to receive the highest quality and everlasting product that impresses even after years of operation.
One Year Guarantee with Optional Extension
The components that are produced by us and are not covered by the Endless Guarantee are covered by 1 Year Guarantee with a possible extension for the following years.
The Guarantee Extension Fee is equal to 5% of the price of the components.
Maintenance and servicing
The installation has to be inspected every 3 years.
In an unlikely case of malfunction, we will ask the client to designate a person to carry some simple servicing tasks. Examples of those tasks are mentioned in the Technical Specification. Those actions are aimed at fixing the problem or finding the source of malfunction before our arrival.
All maintenance and service works as well as any spare parts are covered by the guarantee. However, the client has to settle all shipping costs for the spare parts along with all the expenses for the transportation and accommodation for our technicians.
